Abstract:

The turkey novel, which began with the translation and imitation of western novels after Tanzimat, has made light on the history of westernization in Turkey and the transformation process in political life. Together with Tanzimat, the events of westernization and modernization, which are centered in the works of novelists such as Ahmet Mithat Efendi, Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem and Halide Edip Adıvar, have become the main topics of Turkish political life and literature. One of the works that gives important clues about the process of modernization in Turkish political life and keeps the mirror from the Tanzimat period to the establishment of the Republic is Fazlı Necip's first novel "Külhani Enteller (Edipler)" published in 1926. In this article, the novel of Külhani Enteller is evaluated by the method of content analysis and the New Ottoman movement and the political, intellectual and intellectual work of the period, which is considered the nirgin point of the Tanzimat post-innovation movements. While the relationship between Tanzimat and modernization is analyzed through the novel, it is discussed how the process of modernization was told through the indicators of westernization in the novel.Romanda begins with the fact of westernization and Tanzimat Ferman, I. and II. The political period from the lawfulness to the Republic is discussed through a hidivli family. The New Ottomans, who formed an opposition public in the Tanzimat period, have criticized the fact that Tanzimat is not based on a philosophy and that modernization is perceived as a western imitation and that the western civilization is considered modest from the formalism.
