Avrupa, Rönesans ile birlikte, hümanist felsefe ve neo-platoncu anlayış doğrultusunda yeni bir döneme girmiştir. Özellikle Antik dünyanın keşfi ve Hristiyanlığın yeniden sorgulanmasıyla, Hıristiyan temelli ölümden sonraki yaşam, insan bedeni, içinde yaşanılan dünya ve doğaya ilişkin düşünce temelli büyük değişimlerin yaşandığı ve bu durumdan sanatın ve sanatçıların çok yoğun bir etkileşime ve değişime uğradığı görülmüştür. Özellikle Hümanist felsefenin doğuşu ile birlikte insan yeniden keşfedilmiş ve insan bedeni Rönesans sanatında sanatçıların üzerinde durdukları en önemli meselelerden birisi olmuştur. Bu anlamda Rönesans sanatı keşfettiği altın oranı insan bedenine uygulayarak insanı taçlandırmıştır. Bu anlamda Leonardo da Vinci bilimi ve sanatı birbirinin tamamlayıcısı olarak görmüş ve bilimi sanatın hizmetinde kullanmıştır. Leonardo’nun Anatomi çalışmalarının birincil amacı insan bedeninin gizemlerini çözmek olduğu kadar, sanatta ideal insanı ve kusursuz ifadeyi yakalamak olmuştur. Leonardo da Vinci yapmış olduğu bilimsel kadavra çalışmaları ile hala bugünde geçerliliğini koruyan çok sağlam anatomik çizimler ortaya koymuştur. Leonardo’nun Anatomisi, bilimin ve sanatın ortak ürünü olarak, bugünde hala sanatçıların ulaşmak istediği ideal güzelliği yansıtmada bir rehber olma özelliğini korumaktadır.
Europe, along with the Renaissance, has entered a new era in the direction of humanist philosophy and neo-platonic understanding. In this sense, the gold ratio discovered by the Renaissance art has applied to the human body and crowned man. In this sense, Leonardo da Vinci saw science and art as complementary to each other and used science in the service of art. The primary goal of Leonardo’s Anatomy studies was to catch the ideal man and the perfect expression in art, as well as to solve the mysteries of the human body.
