Abstract:

Different ethnic elements living together in Yugoslavia for years, founded on some of the Balkan lands separated from the Ottoman State II. When the world war began, they became enemies of each other. In the areas where the majority of the Serbs were killed by mass genocide many Boşnaks and the villages were burned. Those who saved their lives were either escaped to the cities of Bosnia where the Serbs did not rule, or settled in camps in Austria, Italy and Germany where the allies established. On the other hand, the Bosnians who served in the Yugoslav Kingdom army during that time were arrested and taken as prisoners to the allies' camps mentioned. Thus, both in Bosnia and abroad and in the refugee camps, the Boşnaks, either collectively or individually, requested permission to travel to Turkey to President Ismet Inönü; for this they sent ten letters. The letters sent from outside of Turkey are in Boşnakça and from within Turkey are in Turkish. From the statements in the letters preserved in the Republic Archive, it is clear that the Boşnak are in trouble in the camps; they want to refuge in Turkey because they see themselves as Turkish. and II. Turkey, which was experiencing economic problems during the World War II, was not interested in them; President Ismet Inönü has not answered any of the ten letters. This is the case, II. It shows that the death struggle for survival during the World War shows that the Boşnaks have been abandoned to their own fate.
