Kur’an-ı Kerim nâzil olduğu günden beri insanların yaşamına yön vermiş günlük hayatlarını şekillendirmiştir. Müslüman âlimler Kur’an üzerinde farklı alanlarda çalışmalar yapmış insanların yaşamlarını kolaylaştıracak, şekil ve yön verecek yorumlarda bulunmuşlardır. Toplumsal yaşamın hukuki kuralları da yine Kur’an çerçevesinde ondan istinbat edilen hükümler çerçevesinde oluşturulmuştur. Ebû Hanîfe ve talebeleri de Müslüman toplumun sosyal yaşamdaki kurallarını Kur’an çerçevesinde oluşturma gayretini göstermişler ve bunda da muvaffak olmuşlardır. Diğer bir deyişle Kur’an’ın hüküm içeren âyetlerinin zamana şartlara ve mekâna uygun olarak, Kur’an’ın ruhuna ters düşmeksizin tefsirini yapmışlardır. Ebû Hanîfe ekolünün Kur’an’ı tefsir ederken dayandığı esasların kökeni tabiîn ve sahâbenin görüş ve içtihatlarına dayanmaktadır. Her ne kadar Ebû Hanîfe’den bizlere ulaşan bizzat kendisinin yazdığı eser olmasa da ona isnat edilen eserlerde, İmam Muhammed ve İmam Yûsuf gibi öğrencilerinin kaleme aldıkları kitaplarda ekolün tefsirdeki kökenlerini görebilmekteyiz. Ebû Hanîfe ekolü tefsir ilminden ziyade fıkıhta meşhur olmuştur. Bu hususiyet ekolün tefsir faaliyetlerinin tanınmamasına veya az tanınmasına sebep olmuştur. Makalede bu kökenleri tespit ettikten sonra mezhep imamlarının kaleme aldıkları tefsir ilmiyle alakalı seçtiğimiz bazı çalışmaları IV. asırdan itibaren vermeye gayret ederek ekolün Kur’an tefsiri sahasındaki çabalarını göstermeye ve var olan müphemliği izale etmeye çalışacağız.
