Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to study the levels of psychological resistance of Ahiskali students who continue to study higher education in Turkey from the point of view of various demographic variables. For this purpose, data were collected from a total of 393 students from 33 separate state universities in Turkey. The data collection used the Psychological Resistance Scale (PDÖ) and the Demographic Information Form. Since the PDÖ, which has previously been adapted to Turkey, has not been used in any study for Ahiskali university students, the study first examined the validity and reliability of the PDÖ and found it appropriate to use the scale for Ahiskali students. Then a series of independent samples were applied to t-test, one-way variance analysis and Pearson Moments Collapse Correlation. As a result, there was no significant difference between gender in terms of the total and lower scale points of the PDO. The total, control and challenge points of the family of those living in Turkey are calculated significantly higher than those living in other countries; the total, control and challenge points of the family of those starting their education in Turkey at the primary school level are calculated significantly higher than those starting in higher education. There was no meaningful relationship between the length of life and the total and low scale points of the PDÖ in Turkey.
