Abstract:

The aim of this study is to study the relationship between service training and work performance and to determine the impact of service training dimensions on work performance. The study included 150 people working in 107 4 and 5 star hotels located on the European side of Istanbul. In the framework of the research, three data collection tools were used: personal information form, service training scale and performance scale. The research has found that the dimensions of learning motivation, the support of the chef, the expected individual earnings from education and the expected career-related earnings from education have a positive impact on the work performance of employees. There are also statistically meaningful differences between employees’ training in service and work performance perceptions according to gender, civil status, working time and position variables in the enterprise, and there are significant differences according to age and educational status variables.
