Paris’te Auguste Comte’un pozitivizminden etkilenen Ahmet Rıza Bey, pozitivist akımı Türkiye’ye taşıyan kişidir.Pozitivizmin Rıza Bey’i bu denli etkilemesinin temel sebebi, Comte’un 1789 İhtilâli sonrası Fransız toplumu için yaptığı çözümlemenin, 19.y.y. Osmanlı toplumunun tahlili için uygun olduğunu düşünmesidir. Comte, İhtilâlden sonra Fransız toplumunun karşılaştığı temel sorunun İhtilâlin yol açtığı manevi boşluktan kaynaklandığını düşünerek, bu sorunun entelektüel ve ahlaki bir önderlikle aşılabileceğine inanmış, değişen toplum hayatına yön verme eğiliminde düzen ve ilerleme formülünü esas almış, ihtilâlciliği reddederek ilerlemenin ancak düzen içerisinde gerçekleşebileceğini vurgulamıştır. Bir bunalım dönemi geçiren Osmanlı toplumunun yeni bir sarsıntıya dayanamayacağını düşünen Ahmet Rıza’ya Comte’un akılcı ve evrensel ilkelere göre kurulmuş bir pozitif toplum ütopyasının yön verdiği pozitivist siyaset öğretisi cazip gelmiştir.
In Paris, affected by Auguste Comte’s positivism, Mr. Ahmet Rıza is the person who carries the positivist stream to Turkey.The main reason for the positivism that influenced Mr. Rıza so much is Comte’s 1789 dissolution for the French society after the conflict, 19th century. It is believed that the Ottoman society is suitable for the evaluation. Comte believed that the fundamental problem faced by the French society after the Conflict was derived from the spiritual emptiness caused by the Conflict, believed that this problem could be overcome by an intellectual and moral leadership, based on the formule of order and progress in the tendency to direct the changing social life, rejecting the contradiction, stressed that progress could only occur within the order. The positive political doctrine of Comte, who believes that the Ottoman society that has passed a period of disruption will not be able to resist a new shock, has been attracted by the positive political doctrine that guides a positive society utopia established according to the reasonable and universal principles.
