Abstract:

As a material formed in the hand of the artist, the glass is a product presented using various techniques. This study has studied the possibilities of combination of various metals with high-temperature glass in order to develop creative methods for glass artists. The method was used open forming technique and fusion technique. As a glass, the bottle production window glass, the Schott Artisan series is transparent glass and studio glass; as a metal, it is used from non- iron metals, aluminum, bullet, stone, copper, rice and chromium-nickel. As materials are aimed at being combined in the same structure at high temperatures, their physical characteristics have been studied and focused on heat prolongation characteristics to be able to assess their compatibility with each other. The tests have shown that the metals used in the experiment are a type that will contribute to the glass design as a conceptual and decorative element. Glass and metal have been cooked together and the results have been evaluated in terms of the standing, color, tissue and compatibility of the materials in the glass.
