Gelişen teknoloji ve bilimle birlikte yabancı dil bilme yaşamın ayrılmaz bir parçası ve gerekliliği haline gelmiştir. Değişen dünya koşulları yabancı dil bilen bireye dünya vatandaşı olma yolunda önemli bir ayrıcalık katmaktadır. Ancak birçok kişinin temel sorunu tüm eğitim yaşamı boyunca izlencelerde yer alan bir yabancı dili olması gerektiği gibi işlevsel kullanamamaktır. Gerek birinci gerekse ikinci yabancı dil olarak eğitim dizgesinde yer almasına karşın dil eğitimi dilin yapısalcı yönüne ağırlık verilerek gerçekleştirilmektedir. Bu yüzden yabancı dil bilgisi ve düzeyi kısmen dilin sözlü ve yazılı anlama yetisine dayalı alanında gelişmekte, anlatma becerisi alanında yetersiz ya da eksik kalmaktadır. Eğitiminde ezberci yaklaşımı tümüyle yadsıyan drama, öğreneni odağına alarak yaparak, yaşayarak onu eleştirel ve işbirlikçi bir düşünce sistemine yönelten bir öğretim sürecini ön görmektedir. Bu çalışmada özellikle yabancı dil bölümünde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin bakış açılarının ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklemini Orta Karadeniz’de bir devlet üniversitesinin Eğitim Fakültesi Yabancı Diller Eğitimi Bölümü Fransızca Öğretmenliği’nde öğrenim gören ve drama dersi almış olan öğrenciler oluşturmaktadır. Yabancı dil öğretiminde dramanın hangi dilsel becerilerin gelişiminde etkisi olduğunu saptamak ve bu yöntemin dil öğretimine katkıları ve sınırlılıklarını bulgulamak amacıyla açık uçlu sorulardan oluşan nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılmış, verilerin çözümlenmesinde betimsel analiz yapılmıştır. Bu amaçla araştırmaya katılan öğretmen adaylarına dramanın nasıl bir öğretim yöntemi olduğu; öğretmen olduklarında hangi drama tekniklerini kullanılmayı tercih edecekleri; okuma, yazma, konuşma ve dinleme becerilerinden hangilerinde drama tekniklerini daha yoğun kullanılabileceklerini düşündüklerini gerekçeleriyle birlikte açıklamaları istenmiştir. Bu yolla drama tekniklerinin dil becerilerinin öğretiminde katkılarının ve varsa sınırlılıklarının neler olduğunu ifade etmeleri istenmiştir. Böylece drama eğitimi alan öğretmen adaylarının bu öğretim yönteminin yabancı dile katkılarının onların gözünden taşıdığı anlam ortaya konulmuş ve bu yönde çözüm önerileri sunulmuştur.
With advanced technology and science, foreign language knowledge has become an integral part and necessity of life. The changing world conditions add an important privilege to the individual who knows a foreign language in the way of becoming a world citizen. But the main problem of many people is that they are unable to function as a foreign language should be included in the impressions throughout their entire educational life. The first need is to be included in the educational directory as a second foreign language, although language education is carried out by emphasizing the structural direction of the language. Therefore, the knowledge and level of foreign language is developing in the field partly based on the ability to understand the language in the oral and written form, and the ability to speak is insufficient or lacking in the field. The drama, which completely denies the memorable approach in education, prevents a teaching process that, by taking the student to the focus, by living it to a critical and collaborative thinking system. This study aims to reveal the views of students studying in the foreign language department. The sample of the study is made by students who have studied in French teaching and received a drama course at a state university in the Middle Black Sea, the Department of Foreign Languages Education. In the teaching of foreign languages, the quality research method used to identify which language skills the drama has an impact on the development and to identify the contribution and limitations of this method to the teaching of language, which consists of open-end questions, the analysis of the data was carried out in a visual analysis. For this purpose, the teachers candidates who participated in the research were asked to explain what the method of teaching of the drama is; which theatrical techniques they would prefer to use when they were teachers; which of their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in which they thought they could use theatrical techniques more intensely. In this way, the drama techniques are asked to express their contribution to the teaching of language skills and what their limitations are. Thus, the meaning of the teaching method of the teaching candidates who receive the drama education was revealed and the contribution of the foreign language from their eyes was presented and solutions in this direction were proposed.
