Abstract:

The beginning of Protestant British missionary activities in the Palestinian region, which is called "Saint Land" by the Western states, is a period after the Catholic French and Orthodox Russian missionary organizations, which have continued missionary activities in the region since a century ago, formed their existence in the region. In the mid-19th century, in the Palestinian region, which in Jerusalem, the Catholic missions of French origin and the Orthodox missions of Russian origin spread their own religious doctrines, to ensure that the peoples in the region are delivered to religious liberation and to create political interests in the Palestinian region for their own countries, many orphans were created, primarily churches, monasteries, schools, hospitals, and the British missionary activities in the Palestinian region, compared to the other European states that have previously demonstrated missionary activities in the region, we see that the beginning of the 19th century. Before this date, it was not possible to mention the British presence in the region, especially the British missionary activities. The first British Protestant missionaries sent to the Palestinian region were representatives of the Protestant missionary organization, which was founded in 1799 by a group of evangelical members associated with the Church of England (Clapham Sect).
