Abstract:

Information theories have a certain perception of reality and certain ontological acceptance. In this context, there are measures of the knowledge of the theory. As one of the information theories, the interpretative information theory moves from the perception of the hierarchical-caotic-cultural and built reality. In this direction, the interpretative information theory has a chaotic reality understanding. The interpretative information theory, which moves from such an ontology, gives the meaning to information according to the essence of "cultural dependency". The interpretative information theory, emphasizing the symbols and meanings that vary according to cultures, appeared in opposition to the positivist information theory. In this article, based on the theory of the interpretative information, the perception of reality and ontological acceptance, the epistemological acceptance, methods and techniques, the basic approaches and the validity and reliability of the information obtained by the theory of the interpretative information will be examined.
