Abstract:

In a complex and diverse process such as translation of the multicultural identity of the translation will add richness, the source text will satisfy the expectations of the reader in the translation of the male text by passing through the fluid of different cultural layers. Translation is a scientific phenomenon as well as a social phenomenon. This situation allows us to look at the translation from a more comprehensive and social perspective. It is a matter that should be taken into account as much as the situation in which translation can affect the social structure when it reaches the readers, as well as how it is influenced and formed by society. The life of translation in studies, the traces in society can provide us with important information. In autobiographies, it is possible to analyze the multi-identity aspect of the writer/translator by re-reading his personal life. Halide Edib Adıvar first in English and then in Turkish in two separate languages; Mor Salkımlı House, Memoirs of Halide Edip and Turk's Fire Imtihanı, The Turkish Ordeal. He was the first to translate his life story in English instead of his motherhood. Then the second translation of the English autobiographs into Turkish takes place. It appears that the git-geller in the multi-identity structure of Adıvar actually affects translation decisions and defines translation strategies. In this sense, as an example of the reflections of the translator’s identity in the translation process, Adıvar’s identity will be focused on translating through English autobiographs and then re-translating the identity through Turkish translations.
