Abstract:

The fact that a word has more than one meaning connected to one another is multi-significant (polysemy), and the fact that two separate words are unrelated to one another is called homonymy (homonymy). It is sometimes difficult to draw the boundaries of these two concepts discussed together in the field. The meanings of a multi-significant word arise through the expansion of meanings that are much more similar to an unreasonable historical coincidence. The meaning of a multi-significant word can be referred to to the origin of each word and this is considered a sufficient condition for the differentiation of multi-significant/parental. The words derived from different dictionary-cell units in history are the names of the spouses. The difference between multi-significance and marriage is whether the measurement meanings are connected to each other. There is no complete agreement between the native speakers about whether the meanings of the words are related.The word “happiness” is one of these. From Orhun Writings in Turkish, the word, the name and the real word come to very different meanings in each use. This is an example of homonymic words. But in the name and in the real task, it also has connected meanings in itself. The word is a very meaningful (polysemy) word. The purpose of this study is to reveal the diversity of meaning in the word "sleep" used from the ancient Turkish. In the study, the use of the word art-time and simultaneously was demonstrated and the significance of the historical process was changed.
