Abstract:

Myths, legends, texts, religious systems, social life forms and non-substantial cultural values that form the history of societies are all images that show the trace and position of that society in the universe. Myths are popular stories that are traditionally spread or an allegoric narrative that changes shape by the influence of society’s imagination. The myth is always a “creation” story. It tells us how something was created and how it began to exist. The myth tells us about the present state of man, the characteristic of being a mortal, gender, and cultural being, as well as the experiences it has gained after the interventions of supernatural beings. By movement from myths, the relationships between cultures can also be identified by mythologies. The myths and symbols in the myths and information about the origin of the world and life, natural events, gods, legendary heroes and souls. In the works of today’s Turkish artists, these symbols come to us with different colors, lines and interpretations. This work has been analyzed and interpreted by the painting artist Gülseren Kayalı using the symbols and symbols found in the mythology.
