Abstract:

The cartoon is the art of reproduction that symbolically describes a particular message. The biggest audience of the cartoons are children. Children are influenced by the characters, events and subjects in the cartoons they watch. Cartoons prepared in a quality suitable for children in all respects, regardless of whether they are suitable for children, and cartoons prepared only with commercial concerns also affects children in a negative direction. This study was aimed at evaluating the effects of cartoons on children in the developmental context, in the context of violence and aggression, consumption habits and culture transfer. The method of document examination is used in the research methods. The study was carried out in the summer with information and sources related to the subject. The research-related books, theses, articles and reports have been studied, the obtained data have been systematically integrated. The information obtained from the research has been presented in the framework of the recommendations.
