Abstract:

People use many vehicles when they want to communicate. The most important of these vehicles is the language. One of the most important tools used outside the language is the body language. The teachers’ active use of the body language, especially in education, makes the training process more interesting and moving in terms of listening and thus makes the lesson more fun. The teaching of the subjects by teachers using the body language adds the vision to the lesson and makes them more permanent in the students' memories. The aim of this study is to provide basic information on the ability to use the body language, especially in foreign language training. In this study, information about the body language will be given and the importance of using the body language in foreign language courses will be discussed on the effects of the body language used in foreign language classes on students. The language of the body is within the scope of the non-verbal message, and the verbal message has strengthening, meaning-fortifiing properties. At this point, some theoretical information about the body language will be given and the conclusion will be reached by describing the importance of eye contact, gestures and mimics. At the end of the study, teachers will be given information about the importance of the use of the body language in foreign language education and will be given recommendations on how to actively use and use the body language. This study will explain what challenges teachers and students will face, especially when the body language is not used in foreign language education. In foreign language courses, the reasons and benefits of the use of the body language will be discussed and the success of the courses used in the body language will be revealed.
