Abstract:

In international relations, not the people, but the government’s policies are important. During various periods the relations between the countries have fallen down and, in accordance with the general policies of the states, this process has finally achieved a certain stability. This is the case with the U.S. relations of Turkey. The good relations, which began with the Truman Doctrine in 1947, followed a downward and outward journey to the present day. The letter to Turkey, which was prepared to interfere with Cyprus in 1964, was signed by President Johnson for the first time to hit the good relations with the United States. The letter changed the views of both countries and the peoples of each other. It seems that after this date, the United States has openly started to implement proactive policies against Turkey. The content of the letter is clearly filled with threats and fraud. With this letter, the form of his diploma continued in 2019 and U.S. President Trump sent a letter to President Erdogan on the Syrian policies that did not comply with diplomatic teams and was threatened. The language used in this letter is written with a ridiculous and undermining service. Both letters have resulted in Turkish domestic policy and Turkish foreign policy, and there have been breakdowns between the two NATO allies. The breaks of the first letter are clearer and clearer since it took a long time since this letter was written. Both letters have negatively affected the relations between Turkey and the U.S. and, despite the fact that Turkey is a member of the NATO, it has begun to follow more independent policies than the NATO and the U.S.
