Bu araştırma, beden eğitimi öğretmeni adaylarının ideal beden eğitimi öğretmeni niteliklerine ilişkin görüşlerini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmada tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Çalışma grubunu Abant İzzet Baysal Üniversitesi, Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Yüksekokulu, Beden Eğitimi Öğretmenliği Bölümü’nde öğrenim gören 163 öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak Çoban ve Turan (2006) tarafından geliştirilen “İdeal Beden Eğitimi Öğretmeninin Nitelikleri Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Çalışma bulgularına göre öğretmen adaylarının ideal beden eğitimi öğretmeninin nitelikleri ölçeğinden elde ettikleri puanlar cinsiyet değişkenine göre karşılaştırıldığında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farka rastlanmamıştır. Fakat öğretmen adaylarının puanları arasında sınıf seviyesi değişkenine göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark bulunmuştur. Sonuç olarak araştırmada, beden eğitimi öğretmeni adaylarının genel olarak ideal bir beden eğitimi öğretmeninin sahip olması gereken niteliklerin çoğunun farkında oldukları belirlenmiştir.
This research was done to identify the opinions of body training teachers candidates on the qualifications of ideal body training teachers. The research has used a screening model. The study group is made up of 163 teachers candidates who study at Abant İzzet Baysal University, Body Education and Sports High School, Body Education Teaching Department. The study used the "Ideal Body Education Teacher's Qualifications Scale" developed by Shepherd and Turan (2006) as a data collection tool. According to the study findings, the scores they obtain from the scale of the qualifications of the ideal body training teacher, compared by the gender variable, have not found a statistically meaningful difference. But there was a statistically significant difference between the scores of the teachers' candidates according to the class level variable. As a result, the research found that body training teacher candidates are aware of most of the qualities that an ideal body training teacher should have in general.
