Her toplum belli bir kültür etrafında varlığını sürdürmektedir. Kültür ise bir toplumun tarihsel süreci içerisinde elde ettiği bütün birikimleri içerisinde barındırmaktadır. Buna göre tüm toplumlar kolektif olarak ortaya koydukları kültürel unsurların devam etmesi eğilimindedirler. Kültürel unsurların devamını sağlayan bir çok faktör bulunmaktadır. Bu faktörler içerisindeki en önemli unsurlardan birisi toplumsal cinsiyet rolleridir. Bu makalenin amacı da kültür aktarımında toplumsal cinsiyetin rolü nedir? Sorusuna cevap aramaktır. Türkiye’de kültür araştırmaları içerisinde kültür ve toplumsal cinsiyet ile ilgili araştırmalar bulunmasına rağmen, kültür ile toplumsal cinsiyet arasındaki ilişkiyi ortaya koyan araştırmalar bulunmamaktadır. Bu alandaki boşluğu doldurmayı amaçlayan bu araştırmada kültür ile toplumsal cinsiyet rolü arasındaki ilişki değerlendirilmiştir. Sembolik etkileşim kuramının toplumsal etkileşim yaklaşımı ile Feminist Kuramlardan kurumsal yaklaşımın sosyo-kültürel açından kadının statüsü ve erkek ile olan ilişkisinden hareketle kültür ve toplumsal cinsiyet arasındaki ilişki ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Ayrıca sosyal-davranışçı bir yaklaşım olan sosyal öğrenme kuramıyla bireyin sahip olduğu roller ve bu rollere ilişkin davranışların nasıl oluştuğu da açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Bir literatür değerlendirmesi şeklinde ele alınan bu araştırma nitel bir çalışma olup, kültür ve toplumsal cinsiyete ilişkin literatür taranarak kültür aktarımında toplumsal cinsiyetin rolü belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır.
Societies exist around a certain culture, which contains all the accumulations acquired in the historical course of a society. Thus, all societies are willing to continue the cultural elements they present corporately. There are many factors providing the continuity of these cultural elements. The most important one of them is gender roles. The purpose of this study is to seek a answer to the question of "What is the role of gender in cultural transmission?" Although there are some studies about culture and gender in cultural research in Turkey, the studies revealing the relationship between culture and gender are limited. Therefore, qualitative in nature, this study evaluates the relationship between culture and gender roles, with reference to the social interaction approach of the theory of symbolic interaction and women’s status and their relations with men in terms of a sociocultural view according to the institutive approach – one of the feminist theories. In addition, social learning theory, which is a social-behavioral approach, has been employed to explain how the individual has roles and behaviors related to these roles.
