Çevre sorunlarının etkili bir şekilde çözülebilmesi için planlı ve programlı bir eğitimin küçük yaşlardan itibaren verilmesi ve sürdürülebilir olması önemlidir. Çünkü insanlar sahip oldukları tutumları, çocukluk çağlarında aile ve okul ortamlarında aldıkları eğitim sonucunda şekillendirirler. Ayrıca eğitimler sonucunda duyarlı ve bilinçli bireyler yetiştirilmesi, çevre sorunlarının azalmasına katkı sağlayacaktır. Eğitim sürecinde çocukların çevreye yönelik tutum düzeyleri belirlenerek çevre eğitimi iyileştirilebilir. Bu araştırmanın amacı, orijinali Kibbe, Bogner ve Kaiser (2014) tarafından geliştirilen İki Faktörlü Çevresel Değerler Modeli (2-MEV) tutum ölçeğinin Türkçeye uyarlama çalışmasını yapmaktır. Ölçek, geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışmasının yapılması için ortaokullarda öğrenim gören 508 öğrenciye uygulanmıştır. Ölçeğin Türk kültürüne uygunluğuna doğrulayıcı faktör analizi ile bakılmıştır. Ölçek “Koruma” ve “Kullanma”  adında iki boyut ve 20 maddeden oluşmaktadır. Ölçeğin tamamı için Cronbach Alfa güvenirlik katsayısı .88 koruma boyutu için .78 ve kullanma boyutu için .79 olarak bulunmuştur. Elde edilen sonuçlar, ölçeğin yapısının Türk kültürüne uygun olduğunu ve ortaokul Türk öğrencilerine de uygulanabileceğini göstermiştir.

Abstract:

It is important that planned and programmed education be provided and sustainable from young age in order to be able to effectively solve environmental problems. Because people shape their attitudes as a result of their education in the family and school environments in their childhood. Furthermore, educating sensitive and conscious individuals as a result of training will contribute to the reduction of environmental problems. The environmental education can be improved by determining children’s attitude to the environment. The aim of this research is to do the original Kibbe, Bogner and Kaiser (2014) developed two-factor environmental values model (2-MEV) attitude scale adaptation to the Turkish. 508 students studied in high schools were applied to the scale, validity and reliability study. The measurement is considered by the analysis of the factors confirming the suitability of the Turkish culture. The scale consists of two dimensions and 20 substances called "Protection" and "Use". The Cronbach Alfa reliability ratio for the entire scale was .88; .78 for the protection size and .79 for the use size. The findings showed that the scale structure is in accordance with the Turkish culture and can also be applied to Turkish high school students.

By identifying the attitude levels of children towards environment in the education process, environmental education can be improved. The purpose of this research is to make the Turkish adaptation of the Two-Factor Environmental Values Model (2-MEV) scale, which was originally developed by Kibbe, Bogner and Kaiser (2014). The scale was applied to 508 students in secondary schools to determine their validity and reliability. Its appropriateness to Turkish culture was tested through confirmatory factor analysis. The scale is composed of 20 items and two dimensions called "Preservation" and "Utilization". Cronbach's Alpha reliability coefficient was calculated as .88 for all of the scale; .78 for preservation dimension, and .79 for utilization dimension. The results showed that the structure of the scale is suitable for the Turkish culture and it can be applied to secondary school Turkish students.
