Competitive advantages of firms may change over time Once competitive advantage referred to production capacity lower costs flexible production and total quality management however today it refers to continuous innovation new product development in the shortest time periods and knowledge management Western firms and Japanese firms differ in their perspectives regarding knowledge in terms of epistemology and ontology concepts Knowledge creation and socialization of tacit knowledge has great substance for firms in order to maintain sustainable competitive advantage In this study we focus on organizational knowledge creation new product development and R D which are considered to have significant role for firms in maintaining sustainable competitive advantage and the relationships among them Key Words: Sustainable Competitive Advantage Tacit Knowledge Organizational Knowledge Creation New Product Development Research And Development
