İdeoloji kavramı üzerinde yapılan çalışmalar, onu daha iyi anlamaya ve insana olan etkisini tanımlamaya yardımcı olabilecektir. İdeolojinin; bilim, felsefe ve din ile olan ilişkisi incelenmiş ve her üçünden de farklı olduğu ortaya konulmuştur. Bilimin yanlışlanabilir doğası karşısında ideolojinin kendini mutlak doğru olarak takdim ettiği, felsefenin sorgulamayı esas alan yöntemine karşılık ideolojinin eleştiriye tahammülünün olmadığı anlaşılmıştır. İdeoloji en çok dine yakın durmakta, dinin aşkın olana iman ederek fizik ötesini izah etme işlevine karşılık, ideolojinin bilime konu edilebilecek dünyevi konuları inanç mevzusu haline getirdiği değerlendirilmiştir. Bu çerçevede, bilimle ideoloji arasında kesin bir ayrım yapılması gerekliliği öne çıkmaktadır. İdeolojinin insana yanlış bilinç verdiği ve onu yanlış yönlendirdiği gerçeği karşısında, insanın ideoloji ile ilişkisi kritik önem arz etmektedir. Modernite ve rasyonalitenin insan aklına mutlak bir güven duyma yaklaşımı, akılla kurgulanan büyük ideolojilerin ortaya çıkmasına zemin oluşturmuştur. İnsan aklına yönelik post modern eleştiriler, gelecek yüzyıllarda ideolojilerin yıkıcı etkisinden insanları koruma potansiyeli taşıyabilir.
Studies on the concept of ideology can help to better understand it and describe its impact on human beings. The differences of ideology from science, philosophy and religion were examined and it is understood that against the inaccurate nature of science, ideology presents itself as absolute truth and against the method of philosophy based on inquiry, ideology does not tolerate criticism. Ideology is similar to religion because both are based on faith but ideology evaluates the phenomena that can be subject to science. In this context, there is a need for a clear distinction between science and ideology. In the face of the fact that ideology gives false consciousness to man and misleads him, the relationship of man to ideology is critical. The approach of modernity and rationalism to an absolute trust in the human mind has been the basis for the emergence of the great ideologies conceived by reason. Postmodern criticisms of the human mind can have the potential to protect people from the destructive influence of ideologies in the coming centuries.
