Abstract:

This study aims to identify the attitudes of music teachers towards the profession of music teaching. In addition, it has been studied whether the attitudes of music teachers towards the music teaching profession differ according to gender, age, institutions and professional backgrounds. The work group was formed by 50 music teachers working in private and public schools. The research data was collected with the attitude scale and personal information form to the music teaching profession developed by Tufan and Güdek. The results of the study found that music teachers have positive attitudes towards the music teaching profession, that the attitudes of music teachers do not make meaningful differences according to gender, age and professional age, and that the attitudes of music teachers towards the music teaching profession, according to the institutional variation studied, have made meaningful differences in favour of the music teachers working in public schools.
