Bu araştırmada, İlköğretim Bölümü Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının mesleğe atanmadan önce öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik öz-yeterlikleri cinsiyet, öğrenim gördükleri üniversite ve sınıf değişkenleri bakımından incelenmiştir. Araştırma 2010-2011 eğitim-öğretim yılında Atatürk Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi, Kafkas Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi ve Erzincan Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi Sosyal Bilgiler Eğitimi Anabilim Dallarında öğrenim görmekte olan toplam 241 öğretmen adayı üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Çalışmada Kan tarafından geliştirilen “öğretmen öz-yeterlik ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular, SPSS programı yardımıyla tablolar halinde yorumlanmıştır. Analizlerde t testi, varyans testi, öz-yeterlik inanç düzeyleri arası farkların anlamlılık düzeyine, aritmetik ortalamaya yer verilmiştir.
