Abstract:

In society, the idea and the creativity of the artist are needed to develop culture and art. The degree of respect shown to the work of creative ideas, which is an important social value, is an important indicator of the level to which a society reaches. Respect for the work of the idea and artist and the promotion of his creativity is possible by the protection of the copyrights of the works which are the product of his creativity. The function of copyrights in social life is not limited only to the cultural dimension. Copyrights also prepare the ground for the establishment of a solid economy as well as the substrate of cultural development. Therefore, especially developed countries are taking serious measures to minimize the violations. Thus, the reduction of tax losses and unemployment, the increase in production, the development of sectors and the country’s prosperity are achieved. In this illustrative study by the scan method of the area, a conceptual analysis of copyrights was carried out, copyright infringements were described and the importance of the protection of these rights in terms of the cultural, artistic and economic development of society was explained and proposals were developed in the context of the legal and ethical principles related to it. In addition to the legal arrangements to be made for the prevention of copyright violations and the protection of these rights, the importance of informing, raising awareness and thus ensuring social identity in the context of ethical principles has been emphasized.
