Abstract:

The basie aim of this study is to explore the metaphors developed for the “teacher” concept by the students of Education Faculties from different branches who are able to graduate. The experimental group consists of 105 last grade students who take the “Guidance” course in the section of Pre-school Education, primary Teacher Education and Mathematics Education in the department of Primary Educa- tion, Faculty of Education, Kastamonu University in the 2007-2008 academic year. In the study content analysis which is one of the qualitative methods was used. The result of the study is consistent with the other studies done on the teacher metaphor developed by the student trainees, a systematic difference has not seen in the teacher metaphor according to the branches and gender
