The aim of this study is to determine the effect of e-portfolio process on learner’s performance and attitudes towards gaining computer literacy skills. Sixty- nine first grade students at Classroom Teaching department in Education Faculty of Erzincan University participated in the study and a pre-test-post-test control group experimental design was employed. The study included both quantitative and qualitative data analysis as well. The students were randomly assigned into two groups: an experimental group and a control group. Students’ theoretical and practical skills on computer literacy were measured to determine their performances and additionally their self-assessment of computer literacy were determined. Students’ attitudes were measured by using an attitude scale and making interviews. The groups were administered an achievement test, as a pre-test and post-test and a self-assessment form were used. Students were interviewed for collecting qualitative data. Independent groups t test, paired groups t test and Mann Whitney U test were used to analyze the quantitative data. Content analysis was used for qualitative data analysis. The results revealed that use of e-porfolio in teaching computer literacy had no effect on their theoretical knowledge level but it affected their practical skills and reflected their self-assessment positively. Besides the students developed positive attitudes towards e-portfolio process. Some useful implications are discussed to conduct e-portfolio process effectively.
