Abstract:

The study contains the determination of the components related to the social life in the poems of Alican Kavsî-a divan poet from Tabriz. In this context, some verses selected from the Kavsî’s poems were analyzed. The aim of the study is to break down the false beliefs of the previous years; to show that the Divan Poetry believed to be a literature with a heavy incomprehensible language, away from the public life formed by the poets in the neighborhood of the palace, in fact, is not far from the public life by giving examples from the verses of Kavsî. As seen in the examples, the poet had made realistic observations and reflected this on his verses by staying in the general logic of the divan poetry. In addition, he gave samples from the society that he belonged and used the components of living, traditions, behaviors of people, and spiritual worlds. The language he used in his verses is comprehensible and reflects the features of that era. It is possible to obtain information about the governors of that era from the verses. Brief information about the life and art of Kavsi is provided and samples of verses are given and the points proper to the social life in these verses are shown as a method. As a result, it was endeavored to introduce the components related to public life and of the era of divan poets, especially in the poems of Kavsi and it was tried to reach the traces of the social life.
