Bu çalışmanın amacı ortaokul 5 ve 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin öğrenme stillerini belirleyerek, ders çalışırken kullandıkları yöntemlerin hangi stile daha yatkın olduğunu incelemektir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2013-2014 öğretim yılında Tokat il merkezindeki 2 özel ve 6 devlet okulunda bulunan 5 ve 6. sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Tarama modelindeki bu araştırmanın verilerinin toplanmasında “Öğrenme Stilleri Ölçeği” ile araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan “Ders Çalışma Yöntemleri Anketi” kullanılmıştır. Çalışmaya katılan öğrencilerin ağırlıklı görsel öğrenme stiline sahip oldukları ve en az karma stile sahip oldukları belirlenmiştir. Öğrenciler, ders çalışırken en fazla görsel stile uygun yöntemleri ve en azda dokunsal öğrenme stiline ait yöntemleri seçmişlerdir. Çalışmada ayrıca öğrencilerin grupla çalışmayı bireysel çalışmalara göre daha çok tercih ettikleri tespit edilmiştir.
The aim of this study is to determine the learning styles of secondary school 5th and 6th grade students and examine which learning style the methods they use while studying are closer to. The study group consists of 5 and 6th graders from 2 private and 6 state schools in the centre of Tokat province in the 2013-2014 academic year. For the data collection of this survey model study “Learning Style Scale” and “Studying Method Questionnaire” which was prepared by the researchers were used. It was determined that participant students mainly had visual learning style and had the mixed style at the least. While studying students chose methods that are appropriate to the visual style at the most and the tactile learning style at the least. It was also found out that students preferred group work more than individual work.
