Muhasebe mesleği, üretmiş olduğu “bilgi” ve bu bilgileri kullanan “bilgi kullanıcıları” göz önüne alındığında önemli sorumlulukları olan meslek türleri arasındadır. Önem düzeyi bu kadar yüksek olmasına rağmen “muhasebe mesleği” ne yazık ki gelişmiş ülkeler ile kıyaslandığında Türkiye’de yeterli düzeyde ilgi ve alaka görmemektedir. Özellikle üniversitelerin ilgili bölümlerinden mezun olan potansiyel genç işgücü açısından muhasebe mesleği tercih edilen meslekler arasında son sıralarda yer almaktadır. Bu durumun çeşitli nedenleri olmakla birlikte temel sebeplerden bir tanesi öğrencilerin mesleki tercihlerinde ebeveynlerinin yönlendirmeleri doğrultusunda karar veriyor olması gösterilebilir. Bu çalışmanın konusu, üniversite öğrencilerinin ebeveynlerinin muhasebe mesleği hakkında genel bilgi düzeyleri ile muhasebe mesleğine karşı algılarının tespit edilmesidir. Bu kapsamda, Selçuk Üniversitesi Akşehir İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi’nde öğrenim gören 728 adet öğrencileri arasında meslek mensubu olmayı düşünen 439 adet öğrencinin ebeveynlerine anket uygulamak suretiyle ebeveynlerin muhasebe mesleğini algılama düzeyinin belirlenmesi ve tespit edilen sorunlara çözüm önerilerinde bulunulması amaçlanmaktadır. Çoktan seçmeli ve Likert temelli soruları içeren anket uygulaması ile seçilmiş örneklem verilerinden elde edilen sonuçlar, SPSS (Statistical Packeges for the Social Sciences) paket program yardımıyla analizlere tabi tutulacaktır.
The accounting profession is among the types of professions that have important responsibilities when taking into account the "information" it produces and the "information users" who use this information. Although the level of importance is so high, unfortunately, the "contability profession" compared to the developed countries does not see sufficient interest and interest in Turkey. In particular, accounting profession is among the most preferred professions in terms of potential young workers who have graduated from the relevant departments of the universities. Although there are a number of reasons for this situation, one of the main reasons can be shown is that students are making decisions according to their parents’ guidelines in their professional preferences. The subject of this study is to identify university students' perceptions of their parents' general levels of knowledge about the accounting profession and their perceptions of the accounting profession. In this context, the Selçuk University of Akşehir School of Economics and Administrative Sciences has the aim of applying an survey to the parents of 439 students who consider to be a professional member among 728 students studying at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Akşehir University; it is intended to determine the level of perception of the parent's accounting profession and to present solutions to the problems identified. The results obtained from the selected sample data from the survey application, which already contains selective and Likert-based questions, will be analyzed with the SPSS (Statistical Packeges for the Social Sciences) package program.
When accounting profession is considered in terms of "information" that it has produced and "information users" who are using this information; is one of the profession types that are assuming an important responsibility. Although the level of importance is so high; unfortunately compared with developed countries, "accounting profession" does not see sufficient interest and concern in Turkey. Accounting profession, ranked in the last order among the preferred occupations in terms of the potential young workforce, especially graduates from related departments of universities. Along with various reasons for this situation, it can be shown that one of the main reasons is that the students decide their preferences in the direction of their parents' orientations. The subject of this study is to determinate the level of general knowledge about the accounting profession of parents of university students and their perceptions. In this respect, by conducting a questionnaire to the parents of 439 students who are considering to be professional who are among the 728 students at Selçuk University Akşehir Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences; it is aimed to determine the level of parents' perception of the accounting profession and to propose solutions to the identified problems. With the questionnaire including multiple-choice and Likert-based questions and results obtained from selved samples will be analyzed with the help of SPSS (Statistical Packeges for the Social Sciences) package program.
