Abstract:

Today, the importance of translation is increasing. As translation is an activity that requires very complex cognitive mechanisms, translators have always been needed. However, this situation has not improve the position of the conversion in the labour market. Translators are forced to work with insecure, unorganized and low wages. Despite all unsafe working conditions and low wages, translators love doing their work. In this regard, it is believed that the translators will provide important data to study their attitudes towards the profession. The purpose of the work is to examine the attitudes of the translators towards the profession. In the framework of the research, the significance of the profession from the individual point of view, the personal characteristics that the translators have, and the issues of personal professional conformity are also discussed. Qualitative research method has been adopted to obtain detailed information on the subject. In the study, the 12 summer translator who worked from home was made face-to-face conversations.  The research has found that translators have a high person's professional harmony, and that the personal characteristics of the participants are in harmony with their professions. The translators find their work meaningful, in a positive attitude towards their professions.
