Bir sektörde faaliyet gösteren şirket sayısının fazlalığı ve gelişen teknolojinin sağladığı imkanlar, şirketleri agresif büyüme stratejileri izlemeye zorlamaktadır. Şirketlerin bu amaçla kullandıkları yollardan birisi de taahhütnamede belirtilen süre kadar abone kalma sözü veren müşterilere, sözleşme konusu mal ve/veya hizmet bedelinden indirim yapmaktır. Bu amaçla akdedilen sözleşmelere “taahhütlü abonelik sözleşmesi” adı verilmektedir. Taahhütlü abonelik sözleşmesinin ortaya çıkışı, tüketiciyi daha dezavantajlı bir duruma düşmüştür. Bu nedenle, Abonelik Sözleşmeleri Yönetmeliği’nin dördüncü bölümünde taahhütlü aboneliğe ilişkin esaslar belirlenmek suretiyle bu tür sözleşmelere taraf olan tüketiciler korunmak istenmiştir. Bu konuda uygulamadafazla uyuşmazlığın çıktığı husus, sözleşmenin sona ermesi ve sonuçlarıdır. Bu çalışmada da taahhütlü abonelik sözleşmesine ilişkin kavramsal bir çerçeve çizildikten sonra, sözleşmenin sona ermesi ve sonuçları üzerinde durulacaktır.
