Abstract:

The aim of the study is to present how the current political system is affected by the election of the President directly by the public due to the Constitutional change made in 2007 and contribute towards the current political system discussions with historical highlights. Political systems are the phenomena formed by the social, political, and diplomatic factors. Along with this aim, the presidential system, the semi-presidential system and the parliamentary system of the political systems are analysed over the most appropriate examples, the USA, France and England in the first chapter of the study. In the second chapter, the historical progress of the political system in Turkey has been described. In the last chapter, the impact of the Constitutional change of 2007 on the political system has been examined and the ways how the new political system will be embedded have been proposed
