In this study, with employees’ perspective who work in variety of management positions in public institutions, the effects of leader’s power sources on employee job satisfaction were investigated. Data were obtained with a thirty-nine questions survey. 234 public employees participated to the questionnaire and results were analyzed to reveal the impact of the leader’s referent power, reward power, expert power, legitimate power and coercive power on job satisfaction.As a result of the analysis, in the institutions which the application was carried out, it was seen that the leader’s referent power and expert power have no effect on job satisfaction but leader’s reward power and legitimate power have positive impact on job satisfaction and leader’s coercive power has negative impact on job satisfaction. The reward power was found as the most effective power on job satisfaction
