The aim of this research is the evaluation of in-service training programs and determination of in-service training expectations for those working in the social service area. The study was carried out in a metropolitan municipality by using survey method. The data of the study that was carried out in a metropolitan municipality was obtained using the survey method. In the study where the ideas of 127 workers are evaluated, 90.5% of respondents think (115 persons) that in-service trainings are necessary. While a substantial amount of respondents like 23.6% (30 people) think that training spaces are insufficient, 90.5% (115 persons) of respondents think that trainers should be an expert in adult education. According to results of the Mann-Whitney U hypotheses test, a significant correlation has been identified between the sex of the participants and the managers who think that they provide the necessary importance to training programs. No correlation between the sex of the participants and some trainings given online. Betterment of education spaces, necessity of trainers being an expert in adult education, and the improvement of training-need analysis to make the education programs more effective, and the necessity of managers to be more attentive to make the in-service trainings more fruitful are the important topics evaluated negatively by the participants
