Abstract:

Today, municipality companies as a separate entity from the municipality have been started to come to the forefront in providing services to citizens. These companies are considered to be one of the new models used in service delivery. This model, philosophically based on new public management, is an appropriate tool for principles such as the customer satisfaction, profitability, devolution, and flexibility. In Turkey, municipal companies are being used more and more in servicing citizens. The main objective of this article is to examine the economic size of the municipal companies in Turkey in the light of the latest data and to show the level of new public management in this area. In this article, we showed that the municipal companies double their assets, generally made profits, and staffed as much as the metropolitan municipalities in the period of 2009-2015
