Abstract:

Max Horkheimer, who is one of the thinkers of the Frankfurt School, generally known for criticizing positivism on the philosophy of science of the twentieth century. These criticisms create reactions in the course of time and provide the inspiration for his follower. However, when we work through his thought, it is possible to find not only criticisms of positivism but also detailed criticisms and analyzes of materialism, empiricism and rationalism with regard to creating resource to positivism. Philosophers, selected in these criticisms and commentaries on them are significant for understanding failures about truth investigations in the history of philosophy and involve some explanations, which can be reference for scientists nowadays
