Abstract:

Bu çalışmada, Doğu Anadolu’nun önemli şehirlerinden biri olan Elazığ’ın Ağın İlçesi’ndeki mimari anıtlar üzerinde yer alan inşa ve onarım kitabeleri ele alınmıştır. Bu kapsamda ilçe merkezi ve merkeze bağlı mahalleler ile köylerinde bulunan on yedi yapı üzerindeki toplam yirmi üç kitabe incelenmiştir. Bu kitabelerden bir kısmının inşa, bir kısmının ise onarıma ait olduğu tespit edilmiştir. İncelenen kitabeler, cami, medrese ve çeşmelere aittir. Yapılardan sadece medrese günümüze ulaşamamış olup, kitabesi belediye binasında muhafaza edilmektedir. Kitabelerin üzerindeki tarih ibarelerinden ilçenin 17. yüzyıl ile 20. yüzyıl arasındaki imar faaliyetleri öğrenilmektedir. Kitabelerin çoğunluğu taşra üslubunu yansıtan sade bir bezemeye sahiptir. Kitabe metinlerindeki ünvan ve lakaplar; banilerin kimliği, mesleği ve sosyal statülerine ilişkin bilgileri ihtiva etmektedir. The subject of this study is the construction and restoration inscriptions on architectural monuments in Agin, a town in Elazig, one of the important provinces in Eastern Anatolia. Within this framework, a total of 23 inscriptions found on the seventeen buildings in the town center, its districts and villages have been examined. It has been determined that some of these inscriptions are about the construction and some the restoration of these monuments. These inscriptions belong to a madrasah, mosques and fountains. Among these monuments only the madrasah is not extant and its inscription is preserved at the municipality building. Based on the dates on these inscriptions, it is understood that the construction activities took place in the town between the 17th and 20th centuries. Most of the inscriptions have plain decorations displaying rural style. The titles and nicknames on the inscriptions contain information about the patrons’ identities, occupations and social status.
