Abstract:

Corporate social responsibility, which is important as the reason and order of corporate citizenship in the period in which we live, is an area of implementation in its economic, legal, ethical and social dimensions, not only because of the sensitivity of individuals in society, but also because of the corporate structures in order to profits or eliminate the negative. If one of the facts in the character of the main source of motivation at the point of the above achievements and disadvantages is activism. When the institutions carry out the activities that are causes of existence, the target audience does not show the necessary interest in their wishes, expectations and complaints, does not carry sufficient sensitivity at the point of fulfilment of their responsibilities, they can face activism movements. When this happens, activism comes as a fact that all corporate structures must act taking into account. In this context, the aim of the study is to reveal the dimensions of corporate social responsibility and the relationship of activism with an epistemological approach. The theoretical discussions illustrate the relationship between corporate social responsibility and activism, from the first examples of public relations taken as a case study, the Colorado coal strike and from the last examples, the Deepwater Horizon explosion events and the manifestation in real life. The results of the assessments find that, from the past to the present, institutions can go to the way to eliminate the activism movements, to implement the dimension of corporate social responsibility that they do not fulfill, or to emphasize the dimension of social (the charity) that can be adjusted, and the reasons for this situation are discussed.
