Tanzimat Fermanı’nın ilanı ile birlikte, Türk siyasi hayatında olduğu kadar kültür, düşünce ve edebiyat hayatında da yepyeni bir dönem başlamış, Türk sanatı ve düşüncesi de yüzünü Doğu’dan Batı’ya çevirmiştir. Elbette böyle bir dönüş ve geçiş süreci farklı edebi akımları da beraberinde getirmiştir. Bu dönem Türk kültüründe, düşüncesinde ve edebiyatında yeni arayışlara sebep olmuştur. Türk edebiyatını devirlere ayırırken Tanzimat’la birlikte başlayan ve arayışların yol açtığı bu edebiyata “Arayışlar Devri Türk Edebiyatı” diyoruz. Arayışlar Devri Türk Edebiyatı’nın, Osmanlı sahasında gelişen ve Servet-i Fünûn adıyla anılan devresinin (1896–1901) yazarlarından birisi de Bir Safha-i Kalb adlı hikâye kitabının yazarı Safvetî Ziya’dır. Safvetî Ziya’nın ve eserlerinin Türk Edebiyatı’ndaki yerini sağlıklı bir şekilde tespit edebilmek için öncelikle Arayışlar Devri Türk Edebiyatı’nın ilk devresini oluşturan Tanzimat Edebiyatı ile buna bir tepki olarak doğan Servet-i Fünûn Edebiyatı’nı karşılaştırmalı olarak değerlendirmek gereğine inanıyoruz. Bu yazıda Safveti Ziya’nın (1873-1929) Türk edebiyatındaki yerini tespit ettikten sonra onun eserleri üzerinde durulmuştur. Özellikle de; henüz yeni harflere aktarılarak yayınlanmamış olan Bir Safha-i Kalb adlı eserine dikkat çekilmiştir. Böylelikle Safveti Ziya ve eserlerinin hak ettiği dikkati üzerlerine çekmek, Safveti Ziya ve eserleri ile ilgili araştırmacıları çalışmaya teşvik etmek ve gerek dönem edebiyatı içerisinde, gerekse Türk Edebiyatı içerisinde hak ettiği yerin verilmesine katkıda bulunmak amaçlanmıştır. Abstract: Considering the socio-political changes brought by the Tanzimat Feriman, it is expectable to observe the effects of these changes also on the literature. As it is known, the language and thereby the literature, are the transmitters and carriers of the culture. With the conceptive and socio-political change in the direction of Ottoman Empire from the Eastern World towards the Western World changes in both social and intellectual life and thus the arts have begun. And these kind of changes become more observable among the literature. Thereby, a new period has begun in Turkish literature. While distinguishing Turkish literature into periods, the term “Quest Period Turkish Literature” is used for literary works led by the quests that started with Tanzimat. Safveti Ziya is one of the authors of Quest Period Turkish Literature’s sub-period Servet-i Funun (1896-1901), which was developed in Ottoman area. In order to detect the place of Safveti Ziya and his works in Turkish literature, primarily, Quest Period Turkish Literature, which constitutes the first period of Tanzimat Literature, and Servet-i Funun Literature should be evaluated comparatively. After identifying the place of Safveti Ziya (1873-1929) in Turkish Literature, mainly Bir Safha-i Kalb, which has not been published yet in Latin alphabet, and his other works were emphasized in this article. With the announcement of Tanzimat Ferman, a new period in the culture, thought and literature as well as in the Turkish political life has begun, and the Turkish art and thought have turned their face from the east to the west. Of course, such a return and transition process has brought together different literary flows as well. This period has led to new searches in Turkish culture, thought and literature. When we divide Turkish literature into periods, we call this literature that begins with Tanzimat and the searches lead to the "Searchs Era Turkish Literature". One of the authors of the Turkish Literature, developed in the Ottoman field and named Servet-i Fünûn (1896-1901) is Safvetî Ziya, the author of a story book called A Safha-i Heart. We believe that in order to be able to determine the place of Safvetî Ziya and his works in Turkish Literature in a healthy way, we must first compare with the Tanzimat Literature, which constitutes the first circle of the Turkish Literature of the Searching Age, and the Servet-i Fünûn Literature, which was born as a response to it. This article focuses on his works after Safveti Ziya (1873-1929) identified his place in Turkish literature. In particular, the work of A Safha-i Heart, which has not yet been published in new letters, has been attracted. Thus, Safveti Ziya and his works are intended to attract the attention they deserve, to encourage researchers to work with Safveti Ziya and his works and to contribute to the award of the place they deserve in the literature of the period, if necessary in the Turkish Literature.
