Bilim ve teknoloji ülkelerin sosyoekonomik gelişmelerinde önemli rol oynayan unsurlardır. Ülkelerin bilim ve teknolojide ileride olması gelişmiş olduklarının da göstergesidir. Bu çalışmada 26 Avrupa ülkesinin 2015 yılındaki bilim ve teknoloji göstergeleri analiz edilerek, performaslarının sıralaması elde edilmiştir. Analizler ARAS (Additive Ratio Assessment) yöntemiyle gerçekleştirilmiştir. İncelenen ülkelerin bilim ve teknoloji performanslarını değerlendirmek için Ar-Ge araştırmacıları sayısı, Ar-Ge harcaması, patent başvuru sayısı ve yüksek teknoloji ürünü ihracatı değişkenleri kullanılmıştır. Analiz sonuçlarına göre Almanya, Birleşik Krallık, Holanda ve İsveç bilim ve teknoloji performansı açısından ilk sıralarda yer alırken, Hırvatistan, Letonya ve Romanya için tam tersi durum söz konusudur.
Science and technology are elements that play an important role in the socio-economic development of countries. It is also an indicator that countries are advanced in science and technology. The study analysed the scientific and technological indicators of 26 European countries in 2015 and achieved a ranking of their performance. The analysis is based on the Additive Ratio Assessment (ARAS). The number of R&D researchers, R&D spending, number of patent applications and high-tech product export variables have been used to evaluate the scientific and technological performance of the countries surveyed. According to the analysis, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Sweden are ranked first in terms of scientific and technological performance, while Croatia, Latvia and Romania are the opposite.
