Abstract:

Introduction: The ethical climate consisting of ethical principles and behaviors shows the behaviors that the organization expects from employees. The frequency of use by employees of these behaviors indicates that the ethical climate is so accepted. Purpose: This research was done to identify the ethical perception of the climate in nurses and the socio-demographic characteristics that influence them. Method: This identifying study was conducted with 394 nurses working in an university hospital in the province of Eskişehir. The data of the research was collected with the Personal Information Form created by the researcher with 36 items and the Ethical Climate Scale consisting of 3 sub-dimensions findings: Most of the nurses involved in the study were female, single, graduate, the average age of 29.43±6.50, the average year of work in the profession of 7.70±5. It is 90 was determined. The scale total score of the nurses involved was found to be above the average (123.24±20.77) The low-dimensional score average is distributed in favorable climate (42.26±9.03), primitive climate (41.05±8.38) and selfish climate (39.92±5.09) respectively. In comparison with demographic characteristics, the scale general and low-dimensional score average have been found to have a statistically significant difference between only the educational status and the clinical variables in which they work; there has been found that there is no statistically significant relationship between other sociodemographic characteristics. Results: The research found that nurses who participated in the study had an ethical climate perception above the average in their work environment.
