Abstract:

The spread migration movements in Turkey increase the number of people affected by the socio-economic consequences of this situation. A large part of these people are children. Therefore, the subject of education of foreign nationals is increasingly important every day. This study was conducted to identify the interactions of foreign students studying in Sivas with the school climate. For this, the opinions of school managers, teachers and students in Sivas have been applied. In this study, which was carried out according to the quality state study pattern in the visual research model, the conversation method was used. The researchers developed a "semi-configured interview form", 10 topics were identified in the interview form. The conversations were recorded for 645 minutes of audio and they were converted into 209 pages of text. The method of content analysis is used in the analysis of data. The study found that the view of foreign students that "general security and regulation", "class management", "lear-student relations", "social-cultural sports events" and "behavioral values and school discipline" have no meaningful impact on the school climate has gained weight. Foreign students have come to the conclusion that they have affected the scale of the school climate of "inter-student relationships" in a "positive" direction, while the scale of "good school relationships" and "academic success" in a "negative" direction. The study by schools and higher-level institutions and organizations on solving the problems of compliance and providing access to school for foreign students has been found to be insufficient.
