Abstract:

With the general elections held on May 14, 1950, the one-party power, which lasted 27 years without interruption, ended, and the Democratic Party came to power with the majority of votes. With the arrival of the Democratic Party to power, a new period in Turkey has begun and this new period has felt itself in almost every field, from the economy to education and production, through the process of re-formation of international politics. In Turkey, the Democratic Party period is also a remarkable feature. After the World War, the increasing Soviet threat is to bring Turkey closer to America. As a result of the efforts of the Democratic Party, Turkey became a member of NATO in 1952. The growing reflection of these good relations with America has been shown in Adana, which is our subject, as in all of Turkey. During the Democratic Party period, the development was provided in Adana with support in the field of agriculture, and American experts who came to Turkey to implement educational reform have also visited Adana in examinations.
