Abstract:

The purpose of the research is to identify the views of superior talented students and teachers candidates who participate in a nature education program prepared on the basis of the mentoring approach on the training process as a mentor and mentor together. During the course of the project, the events were conducted in a four-group formed in a way that will be two superior talented students and two teachers candidates. The research is carried out in the case of research methods. The study included a total of 32 participants, including 16 primary 8th grade students (7 girls, 9 men) and 16 final class teachers candidates (11 girls, 5 men). In the study, the open-end question form prepared by the researchers and the diaries that the participants during the project wrote about what they felt and thought about that day each day were used as a data collection tool. The data collected was analyzed by content analysis. When the teaching candidates are examined the answers to open-end questions, they see their participation in the project with superior talents as socially positive, and they point out that such projects should be carried out in the future "to be able to realize them". When examined the opinions of high-talent students, it appears that they all expressed a positive opinion in the same way. In addition, it appears that, especially in the end of the project, when compared with the answers they gave at the beginning, they have more emphasis on the social achievements of the project. When the data obtained from the daily reports are examined, the teachers’ candidates have the “sweaknesses to notice”, the “new knowledge to learn” and the “mighty” codes, and the “happy”, the “very beautiful” and the “mighty” codes are often repeated. In this direction, it can be said that the combination of two different target audiences in future projects is also positive in terms of both target audiences.
