Acil bakım ve müdahale, insanların olağan bir şekilde devam eden hayatlarında aniden meydana gelen fiziksel ve ruhsal hastalıkların, kaza, travma vb. durumların sosyal iyilik hallerinde meydana getirdiği sorunlarda rutinlerine ve gündelik yaşantılarına dönebilmeleri için sunulan sağlık hizmetlerinin bütünüdür. Acil servis birimlerine başvuran bireyler çoğunlukla bir kriz durumunun içindedir. Kriz süreci öznel bir algıyı ifade eder ve bir insan için kriz olan durum başka biri için ufak bir sorun olarak açıklanabilir. Müracaatçı profili, bireysel sorunlarını çözerken başarısız olduğunu hissettiğinde ve güçlü yanları ile sahip olduğu destek kaynakları yetersiz kaldığında kendi durumuna özgü krizi algılar, acil servis tıbbi sosyal hizmet müdahalesine ihtiyaç duyar. Tıbbi sosyal hizmet uzmanı da bu noktada devreye girer, krize müdahale etmeye çalışır ve müracaatçı ile birlikte sorununu çözmek için uğraşır. İlaveten acil servislerde tıbbi sosyal hizmetin müracaatçı grupları ölüm, travma, kayıp, şiddet, terk ve istismar yaşantılarına maruz kalan insanlardan oluşmaktadır. Acil servislerde tıbbi sosyal hizmet uygulamalarının yerleşmesinin ve önem kazanmasının ilk koşulu; müracaatçıların durumunun öznel olduğunun bilinmesi, hassas yönlerinin yoğunluğunun vurgulanması ve tıbbi tedavi ekibine hissettirilmesidir. Nitekim bu makalenin amacı acil servis tıbbi sosyal hizmet müdahalesini ele alırken Türkiye’deki acil servislerde tıbbi sosyal hizmet uygulamalarını hatırlatmak, müracaatçı profilini betimlemek ve acil servis tıbbi sosyal hizmet müdahalesi esnasında gerçekleştirilen acil servis tıbbi sosyal hizmet mülakatında dikkat edilmesi gereken noktaları kısaca açıklamaktır. Unutulmamalıdır ki, acil servis tıbbi sosyal hizmet müdahalesi ve mülakatı, müracaatçıları güçlendirmeye yönelik tasarlanan profesyonel uygulamalar arasındadır.
Emergency care and intervention is the whole of the health services offered to people to return to their routine and daily life when there are problems in their social well-being caused by the physical and mental illnesses that occur suddenly in people's normal lives, such as accidents, trauma. Individuals who apply to emergency service units are mostly in a crisis situation. The crisis process refers to a subjective perception and the crisis for a man described as a minor problem for someone else. Client profile perceives its own situation-specific crisis when it feels unsuccessful in solving individual problems and has insufficient resources to support it, and it needs emergency service medical social work intervention. The medical social worker also steps at this point and tries to intervene in the crisis and tries to solve the problem together with the client. In addition to this, the client groups of medical social work in emergency departments consist of people exposed to death, trauma, loss, violence, abandonment and abuse. The first condition for medical social work practices in emergency services to become established and gain importance is to know that the client’s situation is subjective, to emphasize the intensity of the sensitive aspects and to have it felt by the medical treatment team. Thus, the purpose of this article is to review medical social work practices in emergency services in Turkey, to describe the client profile and to briefly describe the points to be considered in emergency medical social work interview carried out during the emergency medical social work intervention. It should not be forgotten that the emergency medical social work intervention and interview are among the professional practices designed to strengthen the clients.
