Contrary to international agreements and United Nations resolutions and only with its internal political accounts, despite all the reactions from the Islamic world by U.S. President Donald Trump, the recognition of Jerusalem as the official capital of Israel on 6 December 2017 and the announcement that the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv will move to Jerusalem has gathered a great reaction from the world and has been seen as a blow to the final peace. The Russian official news agency "TASS" has been addressed as an example in view of how this step is seen in the media, which is taken against the people and beliefs in the region to live in peace in the framework of equal rights. The question of the investigation is how and by whom the U.S. decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel is expressed and how the official news agency of the Russian press, TASS News Agency, transmits these news to readers. The study aims to reveal the reflection in the Russian press of the U.S. decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel with statistical data. The Internet version of the TASS News Agency, which is included in the example, is analyzed and interpreted by analysis of the data obtained. The importance of the research is that it is believed to be the first study by the Russian press to create a source of literature. The limitation of the study was created by news published in the twenty-five-day time range between 1 February 2018 and 25 February 2018. After the U.S. decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, the Russian press in the example of the TASS news agency, due to the news intensity and time limitation of the investigation, led to the limitation to occur within this twenty-five-day period. The research was addressed by the content analysis method, which is one of the quantum research methods. In this study, the universe of the research was formed by the official Russian news agency TASS.

The Russian official news agency ‘TASS’ was taken as a sample to look at how this step towards the peaceful living of the peoples and beliefs in the framework of equal rights is seen in the media. The problem of the research is the question of how the United States decided to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, and by whom, and how the TASS news agency, the official news agency of the Russian press, conveyed these news to its readers. In the study, it is aimed to reveal the reflection statistic of the decision of the United States to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel in the Russian press. The internet version of TASS News Agency in the sample was benefited and the obtained data was analyzed and interpreted. The importance of the research is considered to be the first study conducted on the Russian press and it is considered to be the source of literature. News that was published twenty-five day time period between 1 February 2018 and 25 February 2018 is created limitation of research. Following the US’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as capital of İsreal İn the Russian media especially take part in the sample TASS News Agency of due to news to be intensified and and that the limitations of the time caused that limited were materialize within these twenty-five day timeframes. The research was analyzed by content analysis, one of the quantitative research methods. In this study, Russia’s official TASS news agency created the universe of the research.
