Abstract:

This study aims to evaluate effectiveness of the in-service trainings organized for the teachers of secondary schools within the central district of Siirt and the places where these trainings take place. The universe and the sample of the study are secondary school teachers working in the central district of Siirt during 2017-2018 academic year. The questionnaire form is used for data collection. The Evaluation of the in-service training activities questionnaire which is a 5 point   Likert-scale questionnaire containing 24 items and prepared by The Research and Development Department of the Ministry of National Education is used. When the descriptive results of the teachers' opinions are examined according to the in-service training activities, it is seen that the average scores ranged from 2.01 to 3.91. In terms of the views on the effectiveness of the in-service training programs, the differences in some items were significant in terms of the number of participants in gender, seniority and in-service training. Opinions on the effectiveness of in-service training activities were seen at a moderate level.
