Şizofreni bireyde bilişsel, duygulanım ve davranış alanlarındaki bozulmalarla kendini gösteren ciddi bir beyin hastalığıdır. Şizofreni Müzesi’nde, şizofreniye yakalanan eski bir tıp öğrencisinin hastalıkla savaşırken yaşadığı akıl almaz olaylar anlatılmaktadır. Eser, alelade bir kurgudan ibaret olmayıp şizofreniyle mücadele eden kişileri anlamak ve hastalık hakkında bilgi edinmek isteyen okurların istifadelerine sunulmuştur. Bu bakımdan makalede, romanda verilen bilgiler paralelinde şizofreninin tarihine, nedenlerine, belirtilerine değinilmiş ve başkahramanın hastalık öyküsüne yer verilmiştir.
