Mustafa Kemal Paşa’nın önderliğinde 19 Mayıs 1919’da Samsun’da başlatılan “Türk İstiklal Savaşı” 1922’de Türk ordusunun zaferi ile sonuçlandı. İtilaf Devletleri ile Ankara Hükümeti arasında Mudanya Mütarekesi imzalandı. Mütareke ile Yeni Türkiye Devleti, İtilaf Devletleri tarafından fiilen tanınmış oluyordu. Mütarekenin imzalanmasından sonra, sıra barış antlaşmasının imzalanmasına geldi. İtilaf Devletleri Lozan barış görüşmelerine hem İstanbul Hükümeti’ni hem de Ankara Hükümeti’ni davet ettiler. Bu davet, saltanatın kaldırılması yolunda önemli bir adım oldu. Bu çalışmada, İtilaf Devletleri tarafından İstanbul Hükümeti ile Ankara Hükümeti’nin Lozan Konferansı’na davet edilmeleri üzerine her iki hükümetin davet karşısındaki tutumları, İstanbul’un konferansa katılma isteğinin Ankara’da kamuoyunda, siyasi çevrelerde ve TBMM’de yarattığı etkiler ile İstanbul Hükümeti’nin istifası ele alınmıştır.
The "Turkish Antiquity War", which began in Samsun on 19 May 1919 under Mustafa Kemal Pasha, ended with the victory of the Turkish army in 1922. It was signed a Mudanya Agreement between the opposition states and the Ankara government. The new Turkish state was actually recognized by the Opposite States. After the signing of the treaty, it was time for the signing of the peace treaty. The opposition states have invited both the government of Istanbul and the government of Ankara to the Lozan peace talks. This invitation was an important step towards the removal of the sovereignty. In this study, the attitudes against the invitation of both governments on the invitation by the State of the Opposition to the Lozan Conference by the Government of Istanbul and the Government of Ankara, the effects of the wish of Istanbul to participate in the conference in Ankara in the public, in political circles and in the TBMM, and the resignation of the Government of Istanbul were discussed.
